I am kuripot na magastos. It’s an effort for me to go to the mall without taking home a plastic bag of what-have-you. The thing is, I make sure pa (sa lagay na yon) that I buy a bargain item (kaya sira kaagad, o hindi ko nagagamit haha). I am not really the brand-conscious type (kahit local brands, except for my jeans since bargain houses’ China sizes are too small hehe). Self-confessed cheapstake, but I am really more on quantity than quality hahaha! Kaya when I go to department stores, natatakot nako for my savings!
I especially love to buy things when I know may dadating na pera. Sabi nga ni Lyka “Nagbibilang ka na ng itlog” (Labo) Hahaha! ;D Anyway, awhile ago, I met up with the dad of the debutant na ginagawan ko ng invitations (140 pieces), and dahil medyo ginabi yung meetup, I decided to stroll sa mall, and bought PCX stuff—additions to my Ponds beauty regimen like their new face powder (I have the night cream na haha…not that I love endorser Mika Lagdameo hehe!).
Anyway, I call myself queen racketeer, since most of my post-college activities are mere rackets na hindi ako matatali. Narealize ko mag Mamarch na uli, and mag one year na since I graduated. It’s amazing that I was never employed full-time for such a long time na pala…but ang dami ko rin palang nagawa na, to the point that people think I am really working full-time for this magazine, or that I know a lot of part-time jobs (maraming nagtatanung sakin ng pedeng raket, I feel so HR-ish ahaha!).
Kaya its nice din that people from all-over (friend of friend, friend of cousin, acquainted friend, etc) will contact me for pagkakakitaan-of-the-moment—mga biglaang kumikitang kabuhayan that I can join-->para magka-money for my Bangkok dreams, fashion school fulfillment, monkey business, lomo-addictions, dessert-coffee-and-Mexicali cravings, and maybe just for my next department store trip. :D
Ever since my last months as a student, I have worked (paid) freelance for a sports online publication, two magazines (serious and fun), a PR company for shoe brands, had a one-month online writing racket, had more than 4 bazaarista stints, facilitated one recollection of grade 7 deaf students, and my current rackets—I edited 3 thesis of senior HRM students (Php800/ thesis—not bad! Na-OC ako haha!), and then I am about to finish na the 140 pieces debut invi worth around Php4800 (not bad nadin!). I also had pro-bono writings…and siguro I forgot narin some of the other little rakets! Oh, and fashion shows and pageants and classroom features in between. ;D
So yes, if you need to feature a queen racketeer (Raketera sa Tagalog haha)…then you know who to approach. ;D Haha!
Show me the money! ;D
*peace*love*
