When I was a kid, I thought winning contests is natural. My mom consecutively won tv sets, that there was a time each of us had our little box TVs in our rooms (which all were masirain din pala, kaya wala narin ngayon, hehe!). Mom was really fond of joining the Landmark raffles. I never knew then that her winning streaks were just sheer luck.

I realized how I am into joining contests, too. When I told Meh and Geo and Marj last Friday night about my latest contest entry…I told them to vote for me, and said “sorry naman parang ang hilig ko sumali sa mga contests, nakakahiya!” Me-an said na wala lang yun since she also takes advantage of raffles (like mom!=))…and that’s when I realized that I am not really into raffles because I was never lucky in those 1-in-a-million chances. I would join contests that need effort parin, like the Candy Council where you need to submit an essay and undergo interviews and dares, the Banana Peel design your own flipflops contest, and so much more. Anyway, I can’t wait to have another instant-premyo thing! :D Hoping for more contests and opportunities… ahaha!

Every time new reality show ads were shown during our night-time family TV viewing, they would always tease me of joining since I have nothing to lose or sacrifice (no office leaves, etc). Awhile ago, the Pinoy Fear Factor ad was shown, when ate said “qualified na yung age natin jan o!”. Honestly, I think it would be fun to go to South America and face exciting challenges while friends and people who know you laugh at your antics on national TV…but what holds me back is that ipis palang sa kwarto ko tumutupi na ako—yung kakainin ko pa kaya?!?!! Haha!

Anyway, congrats uli sa first Pera o Bayong grand winner kanina (HAHA!), the single-parent who won P1 Million and house and lot and a new car! :D Hindi lang basta pera e!
